Andrew Chapman (GCCM COO): Member of the Order of Australia

The Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard (GCCM) is proud to announce that Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Chapman CMM, has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours. This prestigious recognition celebrates Andrew’s significant service to youth and the marina industries. Appointed COO of GCCM in 2022, Andrew also serves as President and Chairman of the Marina Industries Association, a role he has held for 14 years. He is a founding member of the Australian Marine Industry Advisory Group, which advises government ministers and supports the advancement of the marine sector.
With over 40 years of experience in the marine industry, Andrew has brought a strong customer service ethos to GCCM. Under his leadership, the team has implemented innovative operational procedures, including enhanced safety protocols and 24/7 access to the dry store booking system—ensuring a seamless experience for all customers.
Andrew’s leadership was especially evident during Tropical Cyclone Alfred, when he and his operations team remained onsite for four days and three nights to ensure the safety and continuity of marina operations.
His commitment to excellence has helped GCCM achieve 5 Gold Anchor re-accreditation in 2025, and win multiple accolades at the 2025 Nautilus Marine Insurance Marina of the Year Awards, including:
- Marina of the Year (over 140 boats)
- Boatyard of the Year (over 20 boats)
- Dry Stack Facility Award

In addition to his industry contributions, Andrew has been a passionate advocate for youth. He has served as Chair of the Advancing Youth Foundation South Australia since 2016 and is a Trustee of the Prince Alfred College Foundation.
