APSA Chairman’s Message 30 September 2025

The Monaco Yacht Show has come and gone, and APSA’s Asia Superyacht Night (ASYN) continues to draw a crowd. I am delighted with the way that this event has grown over the years: it continues to be such a popular event with the Asia-Pacific superyacht community, and is a great way to start the Monaco Yacht Show; and this year’s party was the largest we have ever done.

Of course, special thanks to our 11 sponsors: Patron Sponsor Fema Marine, Destination Sponsor Superyacht Australia, Platinum Sponsor Teji | Cowie. Our Gold Sponsors, YACHTZOO, Maritime Cook Islands, Charter Itinerary and the newly branded Bali Gapura Marina, along with our Silver Sponsors Frigomar, Azure Yacht Crew Health, Setouchi DMO and Travel Cue. Photos and the video from the Asia Superyacht Night will be available soon, and we look forward to sharing these Monaco memories with you!

In our September newsletter we look at some of the news and boat launches from the MYS. APSA Platinum member Praxis is expanding its network of strategic partners to further strengthen its support for yacht owners, family offices, and captains, and with has formed new partnerships with Travel Cue and MIMO Connect. Fema Marine presented two of the extensively refitted superyachts in their fleet, the 72m Axioma, and the 82m Alfa Nero. Teji | Cowie Superyacht Lawyers announced their formation and new practice, specialising in legal matters relating to the superyacht sector.

Superyacht Australia announced the launch of the Sydney Charter Show in 2026 at Sydney’s Jones Bay Superyacht Marina, and Indonesia unveiled the new ‘official’ name of its first international full- service marina - Bali Gapura Marina by PT Marina Development Indonesia (MDI) and PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo). The next Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit 2026 will head to Kobe, Japan, in 2026 after two successful editions in Hong Kong.

Monaco Yacht Show is all about superyachts, and there were plenty on show with Benetti displaying Lady Estey, the new B.Now 67M with the Oasis Deck®. Ferretti Group’s fleet of six magnificent yachts was led by the Riva 112’ Dolcevita Super, making her world debut. Horizon showcased the first FD80 to enter the European market, and Sunreef Yachts presented one of its best-selling luxury supercat models, the 100 Sunreef Power. YACHTZOO presented Arina, a 43.3m Pershing 140, all- aluminium construction and with cutting-edge features.

Finally, I would like to thank all the APSA members who attended our AGM held at the Novotel; they were Andy Shorten (The Lighthouse Consultancy), Chris Blackwell (Echo Yachts), Hilda Loe and Kai Kwok (Hilda Loe Associates Pte Ltd), Mary Tsoi (Maritime Cook Islands), Mike Sager (Ankor Software), Simone Centola (Legal Strategies), Hiro Sakamoto (Setouichi DMO) and Yukio Shintani and Kazuyuki Shintani (Creation Co Ltd), with Affiliate Associations: David Good (Superyacht Australia), Wade Pearce (Singapore Boating Industry Association) and Official Partner Kitty McGowan (Nauticom-Superyacht Specialists); as well as my fellow committee members Gordon Fernandez, Alex Teji, Antony Cowie, and Christophe Ceard. The support of members is vital for the Association to grow and be an effective voice for the Asia-Pacific superyacht community.

Enjoy the rest of the boat show season and your time on the water!

Best regards

Nigel Beatty
