Benetti Yachts Current Orders at €700 Million
Benetti Yachts, Italian excellence in superyacht construction since 1873, is brilliantly riding the wave of market growth in a season that promises very satisfying results. Despite the complexities caused by the global pandemic, Benetti Yachts possesses 34 superyachts orders at a value of €700 million, accounting for units both under construction and planning to go on construction before 2021 spring time, reaching a portfolio worth exceeding 1 billion euros in total of Azimut | Benetti Group. Despite the present COVID-19 restrictions, the nautical market has enjoyed a busy season originating from the widespread desire for escape, freedom and safety of the sea. Consumers’ lure of escaping to the open water has led to an uptrend in yacht orders.
This is reflected in the strong numbers in the composite megayacht division from 29 to 44 meters, coupled with the custom steel division which has sold 15 yachts with a concentration in the 50-70 meter range. In APAC, Benetti Yachts has put in a particularly good performance with Oasis 40M boasting sales of 5 units in the region and 14 units globally. “Oasis success in APAC indicates an increasing demand for spacious and multifunctional outdoor space. She represents a more dynamic style including a multifunctional beach area for fun and games during daytime and the ability to be transformed into a sophisticated lounge for more formal occasions at sunset. This full day flexibility is what Asia consumers are looking for in their private hosting capabilities. A space that both fits the family in the day and entertaining in the evening.” said Giovanna Vitelli, Executive Vice President of Azimut|Benetti Group.
Of the Oasis 40M that takes up the open line, 6 out of 9 units under construction were sold in the last 6 months and Benetti is anticipating very high demand for her upcoming sistership, slightly smaller in size but which fulfills owners’ demand for spontaneous outdoor living. Set to capture more growth for Benetti are a wide range of new standout models including the Benetti Motopanfilo 37M, which evokes the lines of the iconic 1950s Benetti Gabbiano inspired by the glamourous legendary “navettes” of the 60’s and a new generation of expedition, B.Yond 37M, a worldwide favourite given the electric-diesel hybrids installed to reduce nitrogen oxide and carbon dioxide emissions. “I am proud to see our various products in underlining Benetti Yachts’ Italian heritage and excellent craftsmanship with each showing our prowess in meeting changing consumer needs and advancing eco- friendly boating experiences. Our leadership is recognized through the tangible results, an outpost of that new Italian Renaissance that we all hope for, and this could not have been achieved without the diligent collaboration between the management, the workers and all the representatives of the supply chain,” says Marco Valle, CEO of Azimut | Benetti Group.
