Agents by Catalano, known for their global representation of leading Yacht Agencies, saw Catalano Shipping Monaco’s Yacht Agent Guillaume Catalano head to the popular offices of Catalano Shipping New Zealand for the 2023/2024 summer. The goal was to offer new internal experiences across the offices and to engage Europe with our pacific clients and team.
“Its not all work” says Duthie Lidgard , Managing Director of the NZ office. It’s also about showcasing New Zealand and how much of a popular destination we are for Superyachts. Such a different variety of things to do everyday. It’s hard to describe things that your accustomed too, so it’s been great to show Guillaume what we see daily.
I can only say “New Zealand is just an amazing area for cruising, the nature lovers will for sure appreciate a lot the experience here and around New Zealand” says Guillaume. Rules are a bit different than in the MED but Lidgard the Managing Director of Catalano Shipping Pacific is an expert here, he can organize the best cruising for the guests and solve any problem that happen during the trip.”
The New Zealand is coming off the back of Covid lockdowns with the NZ office having a record turn over and popularity with the superyachts, and this saw the addition employment of Jackson Booth as Junior Agent. Jackson has been working alongside Guillaume during his NZ visit, learning first-hand the Catalano Agent Matrix of systems. Jackson, a local 28 year-old Aucklander is a qualified builder, and has five years experience working onboard superyachts as a deckhand/carpenter in the Mediterranean, US, Caribbean and Pacific. “ I love being back home, and being an Agent, dealing with crew day-to-day and forging new friendships with vessels and crew” says Jackson.
“New Zealand is for sure a good alternative to the American and Caribbean Area during the winter season in the Med, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to come back again” Guillaume Catalano. With a solid list of return clients for 2024, and 2025 we are in already in planning mode for the next internal support exchange from Europe.”
