Chairman’s Message 19 August 2022
Dear APSA Members and Friends
We are now in the lead up to the Monaco Yacht Show and APSA’s signature event, the Asia Superyacht Night to be held on Tuesday 27 September at the rooftop pavilion of the Novotel Monte Carlo. After almost three years of waiting, preparations are well underway, and I am pleased to announce that we have seven sponsors onboard for the event. I am sure that the evening is going to live up to its reputation of being one of the best parties at Monaco, and definitely the premier ‘kick off’ party for the MYS!
Maritime Cook Islands is the premium sponsor for the evening, and Cook Islands dancers will be welcoming invited guests, and then weaving their island magic with some fabulous entertainment. Other sponsors include YACHTZOO, Hill Dickinson, and Superyacht Australia (Gold Sponsors), along with GMT Global Marine Travel, Azure Yacht Crew Health, and Tahiti Tourisme (Silver Sponsors). We are grateful for our sponsors support and we look forward to welcoming all APSA members, but remember to register early as places are limited.
Several APSA Members and Affiliated Associations will be exhibiting at the Monaco Yacht Show 2022. We look forward to seeing them there, and supporting the efforts to spread greater awareness of the Asia-Pacific region. The APSA members exhibiting are: Asia Pacific Superyachts, Azimut|Benetti, Burgess, Cayman Registry, Frazer, Maritime Cook Islands, OCEA Yachts, Superyacht Australia, Superyacht UK, SYBAss, The Islands of Tahiti, The World of Yachts, Yachtstyle, YACHTZOO and Water Revolution Foundation.
APSA is pleased to welcome a new APSA member this month, SeedMarine, which is a yacht management company based in Keelung, Taiwan. These young and enthusiastic professionals are all about high-quality all-round services, providing customers with appropriate professional advice, and customizing different top-level service needs for this emerging yachting community in East Asia.
Other good news is the expansion of Asia Pacific Superyachts (APS) services into the Seychelles. “From imposing boulders to secluded award winning beach spots, the Seychelles represents one of the very few luxurious and untouched frontiers for vessels wishing to cruise in tranquillity”, reports APS Seychelles’ Managing Director, Christophe Houareau.
The South Pacific has also seen superyacht action this month, with the second annual Australia-Fiji Rendezvous sponsored by Benetti Yachts, which was held on 12 August 2022 at Port Denarau Marina, Fiji. Fourteen superyachts were in attendance, with every one of them enjoying a busy season in Fiji, and eager to receive updates on the Australian superyacht industry. Superyacht Australia members Rivergate Marina & Shipyard, Super Yacht Group Great Barrier Reef and Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard attended a full day’s programme of activities beginning with the Morning Tea Expo, followed by the Captains’ VIP Lunch, and culminating in the Crew Networking Party in the evening.
Next stop for APSA is Monaco. We are so looking forward to seeing everyone soon - and remember to register for the APSA’s Asia Superyacht Night; it is strictly ‘guest list only’ so don’t be disappointed on the evening!
Best regards
Nigel Beatty
