Chairman’s Message 20 April 2021

Dear APSA Members and Friends,

April is the month that APSA celebrates its 10th Anniversary: the Association was incorporated on 20 April 2011. Travel restrictions and social distancing mean that this is not the time to celebrate, but surely there will be an opportunity for a BIG party later in the year!

Season 2 of the APSA Grand Tour Webinar Series is in full swing. Many thanks to the South Pacific panellists Manoa Rey (Tahiti), David Jamieson (Fiji), and Katrina Matheson (Cook Islands) who provided a very slick presentation last Tuesday 13 April. The YouTube clips are being loaded to the APSA website, so if you missed the live performance you can watch the recordings.

Don’t forget to register for the Indian Ocean Adventure today, Tuesday 20th April to hear panellists Aashim Mongia (India/Andamans), Prasanna Withanage (Sri Lanka) and Nadhira Muneer (Maldives). And APSA Vice Chairman, Christophe Ceard will be introducing this webinar as he is very familiar with cruising and chartering in this region.

We are pleased to welcome another new member to APSA this month: Global Yacht Services (GYS) is a new company founded by our new Hon Treasurer, Bryan Tse. According to Bryan, GYS is a company of ‘doers’ for whom no job is too big or too small, and the sole focus is to help owners enjoy the pleasures of yachting in a legal, safe and efficient manner.

All APSA Members, both voting and non-voting should by now have received the Notice for the AGM which will be held on Zoom on Thursday 6 May, 2021. Please email Suzy Rayment at admin@apsuperyacht.org if you have not received the notice, and then don’t forget to register for the Zoom AGM!

Finally, on the subject of the APSA 10th Anniversary, if you have any memorable images of ASPA events or members over the last 10 years, please send them to Suzy Rayment so she can collate an Online ‘Celebration of APSA’ that will be a new feature on the APSA website!

We look forward to seeing everyone at the AGM in May.

Nigel Beatty, APSA Chairman
