Chairman’s Message 21 March 2025

Dear APSA Members and Friends,
While many of our members are in Palm Beach for the boat show, I am in Japan celebrating the start of Spring, along with the opening of the Japan International Boat Show. YACHTZOO and Creation Co Ltd, are here exhibiting at the show and so drop by to see us and we look forward to welcoming you. Based as I am between Monaco and Japan, it is here in Japan that the superyacht community will continue to grow in the future, especially with the new Superyacht Base Kobe which is now in development and will be able to accommodate any size yacht alongside, with stern to dockage for up to 80m.
This month we welcome a new APSA member Legal Strategies a full-service law practice headquartered in the City of London, with affiliated firms in Singapore, Hong Kong, Italy and Monaco, which specialising in international business law and dispute resolution.
In April, the industry will gather again but this time in Singapore for the Southeast Asia Yachting Conference (SEAYC2025) from April 8-9, followed by the Singapore Yachting festival (10-13 April) hosted at ONE°15 Marina, Sentosa Cove. The SEAYC 2025 will open with a high-profile keynote panel, featuring Marco Valle, CEO of Azimut|Benetti Group, and Arthur Tay, Chairman of SUTL and ONE°15 Marina. This exclusive discussion will provide invaluable insights into market trends, sustainability, and the evolving landscape of luxury yacht ownership and marina development in Southeast Asia. APSA member are eligible for a registration discounts for both the SEAYC and SYF, so remember to email marketing@apsuperyacht.org for the registration code.
Other exciting news for was the invitation for APSA and the Hong Kong boating Industry Association along with several industry experts to participate in an Industry Round Table Discussion organised by the Chief Executive Policy Unit (CEPU) to discuss opportunities for Hong Kong's Yacht Economy Development and Marine Tourism, that follow on from last year's Policy Address.
In May, the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit is back in Hong Kong (7-8 May) and SuperYacht Times is eager to welcome family office members, and captains to the event, and is therefore offering them complimentary APSS tickets. APSA is a Supporting Partner for the event, and there is a strong line up of APSA members participating as speakers and panellists. I will be speaking about how & why we are developing Superyacht Base Kobe, so look forward to seeing everyone there. Remember APSA members get a 15% discount up to the start of the Summit, so email marketing@apsuperyacht.org for the registration code.
There is a lot of interesting news from our members this month and plenty of events happening in the regions so we look forward to keeping you posted on all that is happening. Finally, don’t forget to put Tuesday the 23 September 2025 in your calendar for the Asia Superyacht Night Monaco 2025. If you are interested in being a sponsor of that event, please let us know.
Best Wishes and see you on the water!
