Chairman’s message 31 October 2025

Dear APSA members and Friends

The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) has come and gone, and APSA’s Asia Superyacht Night (ASYN) was well attended - and I believe successfully showcased the strength of the Asia-Pacific superyacht industry. It’s a great way to start the MYS, and this year we were able to provide a fantastic party, and thanks to our sponsors.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is currently happening, and we wish all our members a successful show. Benetti is launching its new headquarters at Pier Sixty-six where they have three superyachts on display, two from the Oasis family and the Diamond 44M. The Ferretti Group has several yachts on display which include two premieres in the AMAS region; the Pershing GTX70, and the wallywhy200.

Horizon Yachts are presenting two of their Power Catamarans with Portuguese Deck configurations, and Cheoy Lee’s 130 Explorer is making her debut at the show along with their family-friendly cruisers, the CLB72 and CLB65. APSA Members exhibiting at FLIBS include Camper & Nicholsons International, Frigomar, JMS Yachting, Heysea Yachts, Sunreef Yachts, StellarPM, Travel Cue, YACHTZOO and GMT - Global Marine Travel with their Oasis lounges that offer hospitality for superyacht captains and crew.

There is plenty of local news this month with APSA’s Monaco wrap up, an interview with the Chief Executive Policy Unit in Hong Kong discussing Marine Tourism, Lantau Yacht Club’s Festa Nautica, and Asia Pacific Superyacht’s participation in the African Boat Conference in Cape Town.

On the global superyacht front, recent changes to the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry (CISR) have introduced welcome flexibility for private yacht owners looking to carry more guests than the standard limit. Ben Holmes, Safety & Security Manager at Praxis, said: “For owners of private yachts, these changes represent a welcome evolution: the removal of repetitive exemption applications when the vessel is properly managed under an ISM framework reduces administrative burden.

Coming up in November APSA will be attending these superyacht events in Amsterdam; the International Charter Expo (ICE) from 12-14 November, followed by The Superyacht Forum (17-18 November), METSTRADE (18-20 November), and the Yacht Racing Forum (20-21 November 2025). We look forward to sharing your news and promoting the Asia-Pacific region at these important superyacht industry events.

Enjoy the rest of the boat show season and your time on the water!

Best regards

Nigel Beatty (APSA Chairman)
