Dörries Yachts: Project Arwen 114m
APSA member and German yacht builder Dörries Yachts has unveiled the first renderings of the unique lookout spot known as the Nest, onboard the 114.1-metre in-build superyacht Arwen. Perched high atop of the superstructure, the panoramic enclosed seating area promises to be the epitome of luxury, offering an exclusive retreat with breathtaking views. With an almost 360-degree view, her design ensures that no matter where you sit, you are enveloped by the tranquil beauty of the ocean.
Spanning approximately 20 square-metres, the Nest includes a seating area, as well as a double bed, which connects to her forward Jacuzzi and 70 square-metre winter-garden. This area is complemented by a bar and starboard seating area, with an adjacent dayhead and shower. Her winter garden also opens up to her exterior decks, through sliding glass door. This space, alongside the Nest, Jacuzzi and bathroom can also be combined to form an additional owner/VIP apartment. Acting as a private sanctuary, the Nest allows guests to recline comfortably with a cocktail in hand, making it the perfect place to enjoy the magnificent sunrises and sunsets over the water, or retreat for solitary reflection.
The contract for Arwen was signed in 2022, with Dörries Yachts stating that the superyacht would be built for an American tech-billionaire. Previously known as Project ELF, the superyacht features interior and exterior design by US-based firm Píndaros, assisted by Champeau & Wilde and Andy Waugh. Arwen showcases naval architecture by Azure and has an estimated launch date of 2026. Her exterior features a sharp, inverted bow and her profile is punctuated by bow to stern glazing on the main and upper decks that will flood her interior with light.
With an internal volume of 4,950 GT Arwen boasts a spacious interior including an owner's stateroom of 290 square-metres and a 190 square-metre main saloon. The yacht also features six staterooms on her main deck, consisting of four doubles and two twins, each with a large ensuite bathroom. At the heart of the superyacht's design is a beautiful spiral staircase located in a central atrium, offering access to the three main guest decks. On the lower deck, guests can enjoy the use of the spa, massage room, hair and makeup salon, sauna and steam room. The lower deck is also home to tender storage amidships, as well as crew accommodation of 18 cabins. The captain's cabin is located on the bridge deck where there is also a helipad designed for a H135 helicopter. Key features onboard include a 20-metre swimming pool located on her main deck, 13.2-metres of which can be hydraulically raised, transforming the pool into a deck area that is ideal for entertaining guests.
When delivered, ARWEN will join a fleet of 70 motor yachts longer than 100m.
