Exclusive! CENTRAL YACHT announces new 110 dry dock available for visiting yachts
Therefore working with Local Government, Taiwan International Ports Ltd and the Kaohsiung Harbour Bureau, Central Yacht is proud to announce they have the availability of an excellent 110m dry dock facility in an exceptionally clean and well-maintained position.
The dock is quite outstanding even by European refit standards and has no heavy or light industrial activity nearby, in fact the dock is adjacent to the developing arts and entertainment zone being developed by the Kaohsiung City Government.
Kaohsiung has been a world-class centre of yacht construction for over 40 years with specialist yacht builders of both power and sail from 0 to 200 feet in steel, aluminium or composites.
A wealth of subcontractors have been attracted to the area supporting both commercial ship and yacht manufacturing sectors. In fact they even supply some of the premier North European yards.
Efficient and reliable customs and immigration facilities also allow easy access for foreign subcontractors and importation of parts and material
Kaohsiung is therefore the ideal regional choice for all kinds of yacht refit, repair or survey. In fact, Taiwan is now a global competitor in the refit market for speed, quality and price.
Central Yacht chose Taiwan over Mediterranean and North European yards for the recent 10 year Lloyd’s Special survey and refit of 65m diesel-electric yacht Ambrosia. One of the most complex yachts afloat having been one of the first in the world to order the ABB compact azipod system.
Central Yacht has extensive experience in Asia and has already managed 2 Lloyd’s Special Surveys, 2 full cosmetic repaints of superyachts and also been involved in the design and build of the largest steel yacht ever launched in Taiwan.
For whatever your service or maintenance needs in Kaohsiung Central Yacht is able to assist with planning, coordination and on site assistance with permanent staff based in Kaohsiung.
