Monte Carlo Yachts unveils the new MCY 70 at Boot Dusseldorf
The model is the first of a new generation of MCY Collection Yachts.
Monte Carlo Yachts has unveiled its new MCY 70, the first of three releases planned for 2019. The first of a new generation inspired by the Italian maker’s guiding vision and values, the MCY 70 and its sisters represent a natural evolution of the MCY Collection’s defining traits and characteristics. Developed with the lifestyle of the customer in mind, the new yachts will feature even larger interior volumes, wider views, increased brightness, and expanded customization options made possible by the company’s revolutionary naval architecture and production processes.
“At Monte Carlo Yachts’, we’ve always strongly believed in a vision that has shaped and guided us for over ten years,” says Fabrizio Iarrera, Managing Director of Monte Carlo Yachts. “A vision that sees the customer at the center of everything we do and which is defined by the real necessity of bringing true values back into the luxury segment such as time, well-being and responsibility. The new MCY 70 perfectly represents this vision and our guiding principles of evolution alongside continuity.”
The new MCY 70 perfectly embodies Monte Carlo Yachts’ values, and the Nuvolari Lenard design emphasizes the yacht’s role as a home-away-fromhome with particular attention given to wider interior volumes and enlarged exterior entertainment areas where shaped bulwarks enhance the quality of light and space across the main deck and new portholes and windows create an even more immersive relationship with the ocean and the outdoors.
“The new MCY 70 is a great achievement,” say Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard, designers. “It represents the natural evolution of everything that is beautiful about the MCY Collection and takes it further. It is unmistakably part of that family in concept, looks and design, but it is also unique in the subtle touches and enhanced spaces it offers onboard.”
The interior decoration on the new MCY 70 is unique and elegant, and makes use of geometric patterns and linear structures to bring together a living experience that is both warm and contemporary. The use of reflective materials and lacquered woods emphasizes brightness throughout the interior spaces such as in the main saloon where these elements are further enriched by glass and black marble countertops highlighted by reflective stainless steel details. These elements are softened by the natural wood flooring and vertical panels and rich fabrics, which provide a pleasant contrast to the crisp lacquered interiors. Moving to the owner cabin these elements are highlighted by the natural light pouring in from the larger portholes and reflected on the glass and mirrored surfaces.
Other defining traits of the new yacht include a carbon fiber T-Top inspired by MCY largest models featuring lateral supports for a 360° view of the seascape, and an extended Flybridge with a fully customizable lounge area and tables served by an open air galley for a private and elegant al fresco dining experience on board.
The other two vision models that Monte Carlo Yachts’ will present in 2019 are the MCY 66 and MCY 76. The new MCY 76 is an evolution of the company’s very first yacht and will reflect over ten years of design experience an innovation without betraying the iconic boat’s defining features. The MCY 66 will also naturally evolve from the previous model and feature updated design and enlarged interior and exterior spaces.
The innovative elements found throughout these new yachts will offer owners unique personalization opportunities and opens possibilities not available in this size category, such as a dedicated tender garage on MCY 76.
