Cowie & Co is a boutique law firm specialising in maritime work, with a particular emphasis on the yachting sector. The firm regularly advises a wide variety of international clients, including owners (buyers / sellers), yacht builders, dealers, brokers, yacht managers, designers, crewing agents and more. The firm’s practice focuses on the legal advisory aspects of yacht financing, second-hand sale and purchase, newbuilds / construction, chartering, third-party technical yacht management, marina infrastructure projects and other areas.

Cowie & Co’s specialist yachting lawyers have over 25 years of maritime legal advisory experience, having trained at and worked in senior positions at top-tier global maritime law firms, as well as in-house in senior legal advisory positions at market leading brokers and technical managers. Antony Cowie, the company founder has recently joined the APSA Committee to fill the vacancy of Honorary Secretary. Based in Hong Kong, Antony is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong and in England and Wales and has gained significant experience working in private practice with leading law firms, as well as in senior in-house roles with a prominent London based ship broker and as head of legal and insurance with a leading ship management company in Hong Kong.  He has worked for extended periods in London, Singapore and Hong Kong and has in depth knowledge of the European and Asian markets.
