Ocean Diamond 27
Ocean Diamond 27 is the latest yacht to join in the Sail Lanka Yachting Group fleet: the yacht was created to promote cruising as a new and ecologically sustainable tourist activity in Sri Lanka and the greater Indian Ocean region.
Pierre Pringiers has a vision that is based on the sailing boats, built, owned, and operated in Sri Lanka. He believes that charter yachts will be a positive complement to the Sri Lankan tourism industry. Ocean Diamond 27 is a cruising boat equipped with 10 comfortable cabins, eight of which boast their own private balcony deck. Guests can wake up to magnificent sunrises, view stunning beaches and coastlines, engage in water activities and onshore excursions, enjoy sunset cocktails and dream under a star filled sky.
The yacht has three decks: the upper level has an air-conditioned lounge and bar area opening into a relaxed sundeck. The cabins are located on the main and lower decks, above the waterline, while crew cabins and storage are located in the lower deck. The air-conditioned accommodation suites are equipped to a high degree of comfort with compact en suite showers and toilets, television and DVD players, coffee machines, individual safes, ample storage space and high speed WIFI. Eight of the cabins on the main deck (six king size, two twin rooms), have a private terrace, while two cabins are on the lower deck (one king size, one single).
This solar and diesel (2 x Baudouin diesel engines 228 hp) powered catamaran also has a sail for propulsion, and is classified Lloyd's +100 A1 SSC passenger vessel Catamaran G3. Other amenities onboard include a modern galley, dining room seating 22 guests, two massage rooms, a covered bar and lounge area, two tenders, two canoes, six SUP boards, 22 sets of snorkelling masks and flippers, a jet ski, crow’s nest viewing platform, 14 sunbeds, a library, an inflatable pontoon, and free WIFI.
The yacht will be registered under SCV (small class vessel) code in Sri Lanka, and carries 10 crew members including a chef serving an al fresco ‘MediterAsian’ menu featuring exciting, fresh, and healthy culinary adventures.
