Sanlorenzo unveils flagship of the SX range – the SX112
Sanlorenzo unveils its new SX112 crossover yacht. A pioneer by definition, visionary and determined, Sanlorenzo again looks to the horizon and beyond, shaping a new dream to give rise to original habitat solutions. This is the approach behind the company’s 2020 creations, making the SX112 crossover yacht its star this summer, presented in the first version with interior design by Piero Lissoni.
The SX112 shares the same 44Alloy and 62Steel focus, bringing liveability to her indoor and outdoor spaces and their relationship with the sea. She is taken to new heights through cutting-edge solutions that can foreshadow the requests of the market, thanks to ongoing research conducted by Sanlorenzo to always offer the highest quality of life on board and be built around their inhabitants’ needs.
The 34m-long SX112 is a world-first and was launched in 2017, the result of the synthesis between the classic motor yacht with flying bridge and the Explorer type. It brings style, flexibility and functional quality together in a shared language. It also represents the consolidation of a path that began with the SX88 and then the SX76, a continuing challenge enhanced by new contents, proposing a new way of living on the sea. The barriers on board are eliminated, and the boat opens to the outside in a close relationship with the marine environment.
The SX112 has again been assigned to two designers who have been working with Sanlorenzo since the launch of the first crossover model: Bernardo Zuccon, of Studio Zuccon International Project, and Piero Lissoni, art director of the company since 2018, have worked on the exterior and interior respectively. While Zuccon has concentrated on reinforcing the “family feeling” of the range, Lissoni has focused on the subdivision of the internal spaces, in constant dialogue with their outdoor counterparts.
In line with the concept developed for the other models, the main deck has been organised as an open space, an innovative solution introduced by Lissoni on the SX88, to maximise the relationship with outdoor spaces. The focal point of the project is the new stern zone, which represents the yacht’s most iconic area. Conceived as a spacious internal beach area, it is directly connected to the outside, allowing sailors to enjoy these spaces and, thanks to the retractable terraces, maximising the indoor-outdoor connection. This choice brings new possibilities of design and use.
