Super Yacht Group Great Barrier Reef Welcome their 2019 Executive Team
After a successful year in the Great Barrier Reef Region, the Super Yacht Group Great Barrier Reef wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to outgoing member Les Callaghan of Norship and a big welcome to new executive committee, Maritime Lawyer, Emma Connolly. Emma is the Principal Lawyer of Ocean Blue Legal, a boutique international legal practice, which specialises in the maritime and superyacht legal sector. Emma studied Law at the University of Tasmania and was called to the Bar in 2002. She is entered on the Register of Practitioners with the High Court of Australia and holds further Postgraduate qualifications in Maritime Law. She has developed a sound and unique understanding of superyachts, working not only as a lawyer in the marine area, but additionally working with European shipyards constructing superyachts. Emma has lived and worked on various yachts chartering in the Mediterranean an in varied and unique experience has paved the way to creating her own successful legal practice, specialising in superyachts. The firm provides advice and assistance to a range of stakeholders in the yachting industry including; owners, captains, project managers, brokers and crew recruitment agencies, to name a few. She regularly liaises with various regulatory authorities including the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (and other foreign ship registries around the globe). Emma has been involved with the SYGGBR as a volunteer and helped substantial with her assistance in many areas over the past year.
