Update on Asia-Pacific Boat Shows
Boat Shows in the Asia Pacific Region for the first few months of 2020 are suffering from postponements and cancellations due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But, some have been rescheduled and the new dates announced.
New Dates: China (Shanghai) International Boat Show (CIBS): The longest running and most comprehensive annual boating event in China, its 25th version will be held on 22-24 June, 2020 at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (Shanghai).
Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) 2020: This has so far been postponed with new dates still awaited at this time.
Cancelled: Three Australian boat shows – Sydney (July 30-Aug 3), Adelaide (June 28-30) and Brisbane (Aug 21-23) – have now been cancelled. The action follows earlier plans to just postpone them but, because of the further spread of Covid-19, the decision has been made to cancel all three events. In a statement from the Australian Boating Industry Association (BIA), which organises the three shows, BIA president Darren Vaux says: “The Board and Executive of the BIA is constantly monitoring developments related to Covid-19 in the public domain, in communication with government and in discussion with members. Last week, the BIA took the decision to hold the show dates for Sydney and Brisbane and set a contingency date for Adelaide in late September.
Uncertain:The RACV Marine Melbourne Boat Show: Celebrating its 60th year of operation, promoting recreational boating, safe boating practices and the Life’s Better With A Boat message, the show is scheduled to run from 11-14 June, 2020, but the website says “stay tuned”!
2020 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS): This has so far been postponed with new dates still to be confirmed.
