Giving back In PNG

As Papua New Guinea eases border restrictions to welcome back commercial and research vessels, the team at Melanesian Luxury Yachts recently partnered with an Australian client to give back to to some of the regions they’ve visited previously. This project took them to the small village of Gasmata, on the southern coast of New Britain to supply much needed medical aid to locals.

Shipowners’ Club presents Yacht Electrical Fires Podcasts

Since 2014 the Club has experienced 17 yacht fire claims. Of these claims, it was established that 10 were directly a result of an electrical fault, and 1 indirectly. These claims have the potential to demand a high quantum, with one such claim currently sitting at just under US$ 3 million. It is not just the financial implications of these incidents as yachts suffering from fire or smoke damage deprive their owner the use of their asset. This Podcast miniseries has been created to generate awareness surrounding the causes of yacht electrical fires and provide guidance from industry experts on how these incidents may be avoided.

Why superyacht bad press is everyone’s responsibility!

The sordid world of superyachts. Floating lairs for Bond villains. Yachts purchased with stolen cash. These are just a few of the headlines that habitually plague our industry. Whether splashed on the front page of the New York Times or the homepage of the Daily Mail, these stories are responsible for serious reputational damage.

Sanlorenzo Asymmetric Success

Represented by Simpson Marine Sanlorenzo Asia confirms the success of the Asymmetric concept with strong sales across the region. Since its establishment in 1958, conceptual innovation and product expansion have always been at the core of Sanlorenzo. This has been even more evident when the shipyard was acquired by Massimo Perotti in 2005. [Sanlorenzo](https://newsletter.simpsonmarine.com/go/30088192-1726989-181316429)is recognized as having pioneered many innovative developments in the industry – gullwing in the bridge deck and an opening side balcony on the 40Alloy, a beach club on the[46Steel,](https://newsletter.simpsonmarine.com/go/30088188-754694-181316429)the crossover[SX](https://newsletter.simpsonmarine.com/go/30088191-4080862-181316429)range with an expansive aft platform, an “indoor” beach club with translucid ceiling integrating a swimming pool on the[52Steel](https://newsletter.simpsonmarine.com/go/30088189-3946236-181316429).
