Who We Are
Asia-Pacific's Leading Superyacht Association
The Asia-Pacific Superyacht Association (APSA) is the leading professional and regional yacht industry association for Asia, and the first ever cross-country association established in the region. A non-profit body founded in 2011, APSA represents the interests of the superyacht industry across the Asia-Pacific and brings its many markets together with one voice.
Our Objectives
01
Actively promote our members – Asian yacht businesses, and worldwide yacht businesses that want to do business in Asia.
02
Promote South, South-East and East Asia to the global superyacht community as one of the world’s three great cruising regions.
03
Connect our members with captains and owners year-round through collaborative promotion, sponsored social events and the world’s leading yacht shows – from Monaco and Fort Lauderdale to Singapore and Thailand.
What We Do

The Directory Advantage
Built to Be Found - in Search and in AI
The APSA website was rebuilt in 2026 as an AI-forward platform – engineered not just for people, but for the AI tools buyers now use to find services. Being listed in the APSA directory gives a member their own machine-readable page that ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google can read, trust and cite. In a world where more journeys start with a question to a chatbot than a search bar, that visibility is a marketing benefit in its own right.

Your Listing, Machine-Readable
Every APSA listing is backed by structured schema.org data and an llms.txt site summary, so search engines and AI models can read exactly who a member is and what they do.
Welcomed, Not Walled Off
The rebuilt site explicitly invites the major AI crawlers – GPTBot (ChatGPT), ClaudeBot (Claude), PerplexityBot and more – to read and reference its content.
Cited at the Source
Each member has their own structured page, so when an AI answers a question about superyacht services in the Asia-Pacific, a member’s business can be named directly in the reply.
Ready for the Next Era of Search
As captains and owners shift from searching to asking AI, a place in the APSA directory puts members inside the answer – not buried on page two.
Our Story
Fifteen Years of Opening the Asia-Pacific
The idea for a pan-Asian superyacht association was first raised at the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Conference in 2009. Two years later, on 20 April 2011, APSA was incorporated with 45 Founder Members from 14 countries, established by five industry professionals – Colin Dawson, Jean-Jacques Lavigne, YP Loke, Simon Turner and Gareth Twist. From those first Captains’ lunches and the inaugural AGM in Monaco, APSA has grown into one of the region’s most influential industry bodies.
