Crew Mental Health during Covid-19 Crisis

In these difficult times, Crew and shore-based companies are facing various unique and unprecedented challenges. Most yachts are not authorised to sail or carry out maintenance work with contractors, and in many countries, the crew remain under complete “lock-down” onboard. Benetti Classic Double!

Revolutionising Refinishing at GCCM

Australia’s climate, and particularly its winter season in the sub-tropical areas, is ideal for refinishing projects. The weather is stable, warm and dry. Increasingly, yachts are seeing the efficiency of undertaking paint projects during the Australian winter. The most recent to do so is M/Y SuRi, and there is nothing ‘standard’ about the project that is currently underway at Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard (GCCM).

Phuket Update in time of Covid-19

Phuket marinas cannot accept any more yachts, even those already in country. The port is closed to all foreign vessels except cargo ships, which only stay long enough to offload goods and then leave. No crew is allowed off the ship. The whole island is locked down and there is no unnecessary travel between districts with highway check points.

Second Sanlorenzo 44Alloy Sold to Asia

Sanlorenzo Asia, a division of Simpson Marine, is delighted to announce the sale of the second 44Alloy superyacht to Asia. This is the second 44Alloy sold to Asia, with the first one being signed in late 2018 and expected to launch this Autumn 2020. The fast displacement 44.5 metre, 470 GT is built entirely of aluminum and the new 2020 model expected to premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
