Seychelles Drops Covid Travel Restrictions

International visitors and yachts interested to visit the Seychelles will no longer need a COVID-19 vaccination certificate or negative PCR test as of 1st December 2022. Straightforward Immigration (no visas required) and health regulations make for an uncomplicated, hassle-free stay.

The 13th annual Sydney Superyacht Captains’ Long Lunch at Squire’s Landing, Circular Quay, hosted by Rivergate Marina & Shipyard, Major Yacht Services and Sydney Superyacht Marina, welcomed 40 guests, including Captains, and superyacht industry representatives from AIMEX-Superyacht Australia, Jonathan Beckett, (Chief Executive of Burgess), Peter Mahony, (General Manager of Benetti Asia), Brent Hill and Leigh Howard (the CEO and COO from Tourism Fiji) , Natalie Godward (Cruise Development Manager at the Port Authority of NSW), and Hillary Buckman, (Publisher at Ocean Media).

Australian Superyacht Career Nights

Over 80 potential crew and their parents joined a ‘Superyacht Career Night’ event that was jointly hosted by Marine Jobs, Superyacht Australia and Superyacht Crew Academy. The event was organised to attract and educated young people on how to join the superyacht community and become part of an exciting and thriving industry.

Superyacht Gathering’s Pinnacle Event 2022

The 2022 edition of the Superyacht Gathering was the Pinnacle Event which took place from 23-25 November with a total of 66 guests – included 22 overseas attendees – who gathered in Auckland for three days of networking, inspirational talks, and a showcase of authentic Kiwi culture.

The second edition of the Thailand Charter Week, held from the 16 to19 November at Phuket Yacht Haven Marina. Organised by the Thai Yachting Business Association (TYBA), the event received the full support from the Thai Government.

China and Hong Kong Ease Covid Travel Restrictions

China and Hong Kong have rapidly dismantled their Covid Zero regimes. In China the state-run “Communications Itinerary Card”, which tracks whether someone has been to a high-risk area based on their phone signal, when off line on Tuesday 13 December, according to an official WeChat post. A central part of China’s zero-Covid policy, millions of people were required to key in their phone numbers to produce its signature green arrow in order to travel between provinces or enter events. This decision comes just days after China announced an end to large-scale lockdowns, mandatory quarantine in central facilities, and a broad relaxation of testing measures, effectively retiring its zero-Covid strategy.
