Cluster Yachting Monaco: Addresses Safety and Social Media Challenges

The MIA is pleased to announce the launch of the much-anticipated Superyacht Ready accreditation. Superyacht Ready is designed to help skippers and owners identify marinas that have the capacity and capabilities required to provide safe and adequate berthing for superyachts. Hong Kong Boating Industry Association: Update Dec 2024

Some years ago, when the then head of MarDep, Roger Tupper, was interviewed by members of the boating media, he noted that he had heard many positive and useful suggestions for the development of boating in Hong Kong, “but Government does not engage with individuals. To engage with Government, the industry needs an Association. The Hong Kong Boating Industry Association was created in 2018 in order to represent the leisure marine sector, especially where Government is concerned. The industry is substantially under-estimated in official circles, and there have long been calls for an increase in numbers of moorings, streamlining of restrictions and regulations, re-thinking of licensing, and more.

For the YCM Awards and its prestigious UBS Trophy, the great Yacht Club de Monaco family gathered under the presidency of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. Independent professional services group Praxis has achieved a significant milestone with the international certification of its yacht safety management system, enabling it to serve commercially operating yachts over 500GT. The certification, granted through a rigorous Cayman Document of Compliance (DOC) audit, confirms that Praxis’ safety management system (SMS) aligns with the International Safety Management (ISM) Code. The ISM Code is a globally recognised framework that ensures the safe operation of vessels and the prevention of pollution, adhering to rigorous maritime safety standards.
