Title: 2022 SCIBS Delivers a Boating Blockbuster Event
The superyacht community is back in action with live events being held around the world. Three major boating events were held back-to-back at the end of May in Queensland: the ASMEX Conference, the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, and Marinas22. At the annual conference for the Superyacht, Marine Export and Commercial Marine Industries (ASMEX) David Good, CEO of Superyacht Australia, presented an independent economic study that indicates that the superyacht industry will deliver $1.8b and over 7,600 jobs for the Olympics happening in Brisbane in 2032.
Sanlorenzo won the World Superyacht Awards 2022 in Semi-Displacement or Planning Yachts, 40m and above category with the superyacht ALLOY. The culmination of an experimental typological developed over the years by Sanlorenzo to explore new scenarios to offer to the owner and guests, it is a proposal capable of providing new perspectives told through collaboration with the Zuccon International Project studio, for the exterior lines, and the Christian Liaigre studio for the interiors. Sanlorenzo ALLOY is a 44.5-metre long fast-displacement model, entirely in aluminium, with a layout that moves away from the traditional layout of spaces to take the concept of liveability on board to the max.

Although the concept of a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) has been around since 2014, it is only since early 2021 that NFTs have become increasingly popular digital assets, representing real-world objects like art, music, in-game items, and videos. In 2021 the word NFT also became the Collins Dictionary word of the year.
The 9th annual Australia Tahiti Rendezvous sponsored by Benetti Yachts was held on July 8, 2022, at Marina Taina, Papeete, Tahiti. With 15 vessels in attendance, superyacht captains and crew were excited to attend to receive updates on the Australian superyacht industry and participate in the day’s festivities.
