Leading Australian refit and repair provider, Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard (GCCM), has been announced as a world finalist in the 2022 ACREW Superyacht Business Awards. Tourism operators have reached an agreement with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to implement a visa fee exemption for international arrivals, and an eligibility extension for visitors from nations not requiring a visa to enter the country, from 30 to 45 days during the second half of this year, as reported in the Bangkok Post 12 June 2022. A joint meeting between TAT and more than 100 representatives from 10 tourism associations yesterday ended with five proposals that are expected to be presented to the subcommittee of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) next week.

Technical experts from across the Red Ensign Group have been engaging with the superyacht industry on the REG Yacht Code. Chaired by Julian Smith from the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry, the two-day event was held in May at the Superyacht Builder’s Association (SYBAss) in Amsterdam. Julian said: “These events are real opportunities to discuss standards of safety and pollution prevention set out by the REG Yacht Code.”
