Carter Marine Agencies Under New Ownership

Angela Pennefather, (Founder of Melanesian Luxury Yachts), and Sarah Toxward have joined forces and purchased Carter Marine Agencies in Australia. Melanesian Luxury Yachts, a boutique yacht agency founded by Angela Pennefather is known for providing exceptional marine services in the Pacific, will be based in Cairns alongside Tina Flecknoe to facilitate the transition and ensure ongoing client support. Angela is committed to further developing the charter and cruising itineraries, as well as guides across Australia, similar to what Melanesian Luxury Yachts does in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

Horizon Line-Up Scheduled for FLIBS 2024

The 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) is within sight, and Horizon Yacht USA is gearing up to make a splash with an impressive line-up of luxury yachts. In the spotlight from October 30th to November 3rd will be four exquisite models at the Face Dock, Slips 600-606, a prime and familiar location for visitors to Horizon’s display, which is poised to be one of the most exciting yet.

APSA has had a busy few months keeping abreast of the latest developments in the global superyacht industry. Visits to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, followed by The Superyacht Forum and Metstrade in Amsterdam, showed just how much the superyacht industry is growing and developing. Next year’s Metstrade will expand into Hall 8, which will add around 10,000m2 of space, such is the importance of the superyacht sector to the industry as a whole. The additional Superyacht Pavilion will provide options for exhibitors seeking more stand space, and open a circular route around Metstrade halls to improve the visitor experience in 2025.

Thailand International Boat Show 2025 at Phuket Yacht Haven Marina

Thailand’s marine industry has thrown its support behind the strategic relocation of the Thailand International Boat Show to Phuket Yacht Haven Marina in 2025. “The season is shaping up splendidly and we’re seeing a growing number of superyachts”, reports Gordon Fernandes, co-founder of Asia Pacific Superyachts.“Thailand’s yachting industry has undergone significant expansion and the Thai government is working with the country’s yacht services providers in easing restrictions to welcome more affluent visitors to Thailand.”

Cluster Yachting Monaco: Addresses Safety and Social Media Challenges

The Cluster Yachting Monaco held its annual Winter Pop-Up, a landmark event that brought together professionals from across the industry and a fleet of yachts moored in the YCM Marina presented by companies including Ocean Independence, Fraser Yachts and Althaus Yachting. Yachting stakeholders and visitors were able to visit the boats on display before discussing the thorny issue of ‘Charting safety, responsibility and media influence’.
