Hong Kong

East Asia cruising grounds and a full-service superyacht gateway

Overview

Hong Kong is an international port in the fullest sense, where everything a visiting superyacht needs is on hand, from fuel and provisioning to shipyards, brokers and crew. It is a pocket-sized destination with an outsized reach: a deeply indented coastline, spectacular cruising grounds within an hour of the city, and one of Asia's best-connected gateways.

Hong Kong International Airport connects to more than 220 destinations and its Business Aviation Centre is the largest in Asia, making crew changes and owner arrivals straightforward. The city pairs an east-meets-west culture with sophisticated dining, luxury hotels and world-class shopping, so time alongside is as rewarding as time at sea.

Hong Kong is also an excellent jumping-off point for wider cruising: east toward the Philippines, south toward Indonesia and the Pacific, and onward in the direction of the Antipodes. Clearance is straightforward, marina and yacht-club berths are available across the territory, and Macau lies just 40 nautical miles away.

Major Cruising Regions

  1. Victoria Harbour & the Urban Core - the iconic harbour, Kai Tak Cruise Terminal and the city waterfront at the heart of the territory.
  2. Sai Kung & the Eastern Waters - clear water, the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark and sheltered anchorages such as Double Haven and Tai Long Wan.
  3. The Southern Districts - Aberdeen, Deep Water Bay and Repulse Bay, the traditional home of the territory's marinas and yacht clubs.
  4. Lantau & the Western Approaches - Discovery Bay and Lantau Yacht Club, with the gateway west to Macau and the Pearl River Delta.
  5. Offshore Springboard - a launch point for the Philippines, Indonesia and the wider Pacific.
