LYC Welcomes Juliza Liu to the Team

Lantau Yacht Club (LYC) is pleased to introduce Ms Juliza Liu (right), who has joined the LYC team replacing Ms Charlotte Ho (left) as the Director of Membership and Marketing of Auberge Hospitality, while Charlotte will be promoted to a new role within the Group, heading Branding and Marketing for Discovery Bay. Charlotte has been with the Group before the launch of LYC and thank her for her exceptional contribution to the Marketing and Membership function.

Apprentice of the Year Award 2022

Each year, the Australian Marine Industry Awards recognises the innovation, creativity, and craftsmanship of some of Australia’s most successful marine businesses. The awards cover categories for the superyacht, commercial marine and marine export sectors of the industry, but the newest award – the Marine Industry Apprentice Award – is proving equally as popular for entries as businesses recruit, train and support their new team members embarking upon a career in the Australian marine industry.

Chairman’s Message mid-March 2022

The Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) held at the new Dubai Harbour Marina was a busy and successful event. Our Executive Director, Suzy Rayment, was able to catch up with several APSA members including: Benetti, Travel Cue, Cayman Islands, Sail Lanka, Burgess, Rosemont Yacht Services, Superyacht Australia/AIMEX, Hill Dickinson, Cluster Yachting Monaco, Yacht Style, and World of Yachting. If we missed any members, we apologise; however, the trip was done at short notice.

The Middle East Yachting Conference

Over 100 delegates from the industry recently attended the Middle East Yachting Conference held at the St Regis Hotel on Dubai’s Palm Island with the theme ‘Embracing Change and Transformation with Breakthrough Innovation and Creativity’.

Bluegame BGX70 Arrives in Singapore

Southeast Asia has welcomed its first Bluegame BGX70 into Singapore. The BGX70 has been judged the ideal vessel for Singapore and her presence in the Lion city has been the perfect chance to conduct a series of private viewings and bespoke activations onboard.

Sevenstar Yacht Transport reports Asia-Pacific a busy region

The first three months of 2021 have seen a considerable amount of traffic from Sevenstar vessels arriving with yachts in Asia-Pacific or shipping yachts elsewhere. Cargo ships with names like mv Dijksgracht, mv Stadiongracht, mv Flevogracht, mv Deltagracht, mv Happy Dynamic, mv Happy Dragon, and mv Happy Delta are no strangers to Asia and yet they only form a small part of the 100+ fleet of Sevenstar’s mother company Spliethoff.

Superyacht Australia Soirée fuels a booming industry

Superyacht Australia, the peak body for the Australian Superyacht Industry, hosted the 2021 Superyacht Australia Soirée in partnership with Benetti Yachts at Jones Bay Marina in February, 2021. With international travel not permitted and foreign flagged cruise ships unable to operate, many families are considering chartering a yacht to cruise or celebrate important milestones. Fortunately, with the passing of the Special Recreational Vessel (SRV) Act in December 2019, international superyachts can also enter Australia and provide additional capacity into this booming market
