Hot on the heels of rolling out its new Safety Management System for yacht and superyacht owners, independent professional services group Praxis has launched a new suite of solutions for yacht ownership, management and crew services. Praxis Select offers three distinct products – LITE, Classic and Enhanced – that have each been designed to provide efficiencies for private and commercial yachts under 500-gross-tons while maintaining a tailored approach for each vessel. For yachts above this size, the Praxis team is also well-versed in providing services across the three pillars of ownership, crew and yacht management.
Sanlorenzo recently unveiled the LIFE MYSTIC* (Methanol for Yachting Sustainable energy Transition applied to Internal Combustion engines) project, realised in collaboration with Nanni Industries and Ranieri Tonissi, for the realisation of the first green methanol bi-fuel superyacht that will see the light by 2027. Co-funded by the EU, the project will last 54 months and involve a total investment of over €4.8 million.
Angela Pennefather, (Founder of Melanesian Luxury Yachts), and Sarah Toxward have joined forces and purchased Carter Marine Agencies in Australia. Melanesian Luxury Yachts, a boutique yacht agency founded by Angela Pennefather is known for providing exceptional marine services in the Pacific, will be based in Cairns alongside Tina Flecknoe to facilitate the transition and ensure ongoing client support. Angela is committed to further developing the charter and cruising itineraries, as well as guides across Australia, similar to what Melanesian Luxury Yachts does in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.
Ferretti Group is gearing up to capture the hearts of visitors to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) with a fleet of ten yachts expressing the ultimate in innovation, luxury and unmistakable Italian know-how. The event, held from October 30 to November 3, is one of the world’s most influential boat shows, attracting enthusiasts and professionals from every continent.
The Cluster Yachting Monaco held its annual Winter Pop-Up, a landmark event that brought together professionals from across the industry and a fleet of yachts moored in the YCM Marina presented by companies including Ocean Independence, Fraser Yachts and Althaus Yachting. Yachting stakeholders and visitors were able to visit the boats on display before discussing the thorny issue of ‘Charting safety, responsibility and media influence’.
Horizon Yachts has launched and delivered a new FD110 Tri-Deck, called Crowned Eagle. The fifth hull of the superyacht Fast Displacement (FD) model, this FD110 was built for a repeat owner who, after actively cruising aboard and enjoying their FD92 Tri-Deck Crowned Eagle, selected the FD110 Tri-Deck platform upon which they could customize a layout to suit their lifestyle.
Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard (GCCM), recently announced its partnership with The International SeaKeepers Company (SeaKeepers), a non-profit organization that promotes oceanographic research, conservation, and education through direct involvement with the yachting community. GCCM is the first shipyard and the second marina in Australia to form a partnership in marine conservation with SeaKeepers. “GCCM’s commitment to continued environmental improvement has set the benchmark for Marina’s worldwide and we are very excited to partner with SeaKeepers”, said Andrew Chapman CMM, Chief Operating Officer. “As an accredited Clean Marina and Fish Friendly Marina, GCCM are very committed to this goal. By partnering with SeaKeepers, we can help raise awareness of the importance of ocean conservation to our boaties.”
Throughout 2023, APSA has been focused on reconnecting with the Asia-Pacific superyacht community, and with Asian yacht shows and conferences back on the calendar, it is proving to be a busy year. The organic growth of APSA continues to be extremely positive, and several new members have joined in 2023.
