Fiji

Oceania: 330 South Pacific islands, open for superyachts and the Blue Lanes

Overview

Fiji is 330 islands in the Pacific Ocean, of which the two biggest are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Abundant forest, mineral and fish resources make it one of the most developed economies in the Pacific, and it is now considered entirely safe and stable, with an economy heavily dependent on tourism.

Crucially for visiting yachts, Fiji has recently invested substantial sums in berthing facilities for superyachts. The "OPEN" sign is firmly on the door and the famous "Blue Lanes" cruising corridors are open: visitors are very welcome.

The cruising is some of the finest in the South Pacific, from the resort islands of the Mamanuca and Yasawa groups off Viti Levu to the diving at Savusavu on Vanua Levu and the remote anchorages of the Lau group to the east.
