Chairman’s Message 8 February
Dear APSA Members and Friends
January was a busy month, with APSA’s involvement in the inaugural Thailand Yachting Conference and our attendance at the Thailand International Boat Show in Phuket. It was great to finally catch up with our APSA members in Thailand, and ASPA looks forward to growing the superyacht community in Asia in 2024.
The 2024 Asia-Pacific superyacht calendar is looking busy, and I wanted to bring your attention to a new event that has just been announced, the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit being organized by Superyacht Times Media Group. APSA is a Supporting Partner, and the Summit will be taking place in Hong Kong from the 5-6 June, 2024, at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong. The two-day event has the goal of developing the Asian superyacht market in a bid to attract more yachts to the region, and you can find more details about the Summit in this newsletter. Please contact us for more information and sponsorship opportunities.
This month APSA is pleased to welcome another new member, Plus Marine. This Italian company has 20+ years of experience in the production of dockside pedestals and marine related energy modules. Each year this Italian company invests heavily in research and development to ensure that their products are not just pleasing to the eye, but also highly functional and their products can be seen at many Asian marinas.
The Dubai Show is right around the corner and several APSA members and members of the committee will be there. Shortly after Dubai, Kaohsiung is the venue for Horizon Open House in March which looks to be a spectacular event. APSA will be in attendance to report back for Horizon to its fellow members of APSA.
Other news stories focus on latest launches by the superyacht shipyards and more events in the region that include the Singapore Yachting Festival and ICOMIA Boating Industry Conference in April at One 15 Marina, and a series of superyacht events in May in Australia which includes the Australia Superyacht Rendezvous hosted by Gold Coast City Marina and Shipyard, and ASMEX 2024 and Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show held in Sanctuary Cove, Queensland at the end of May. The first half of the year finishes-up, in Hong Kong with the inaugural Asia Pacific Superyacht Summit as mentioned earlier.
As we head into the Year of the Dragon APSA wishes you Best Wishes for the Year of the Dragon and may the Lunar New Year bring you joy and prosperity and abound with health and happiness, both on and off the water.
Best Regards
Nigel Beatty
