The Hainan Clearwater Bay Getaway Season and International Yachting Festival is a month-long celebration of yachting and the boating lifestyle through-out February, and the Chinese New Year holiday period. The new marina clubhouse and resort complex adds a whole new dimension to the Chinese yachting scene, and is a blend of ocean culture and refined luxury.
The month-long festival features six curated events which celebrate yachting, sailing, art, fashion and classic cars, a concert performance by world famous pianist Lang Lang which started the season on a high note. The Opening Ceremony was held the following day and the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Association (APSA) was proud to be a Supporting Partner and be part of the ribbon cutting ceremony, along with Jonathan Sit (One 15˚ Marina) participated in the Burgee exchange between the two Clubs. The day-long Hainan FTP Yachting & Coastal Holiday Forum then followed with several APSA members participating as speakers and they included Martin Lo (Cheoy Lee), Jonathan Sit (One 15˚ Marina), Joe Yuen (Lodestone Yachts), Enrico Chibber (Superyacht Times) and Samuel Xu (China Sayny Yachat Import & Export Trade Association) and Paul Brackley Other APSA members attending the festival included Benetti Yachts, and Ferretti APAC.
Other events during the festival include an impressive classic car display with over 40 vehicles on display every day along with high end luxury clothing soirées, an art exhibition, a sailing carnival and fishing tournament.
The Hainan Yaqing International Clear Water Bay Marina, one of the largest integrated marina complexes in Asia, and for the first time in China, the event presented a deep and immersive crossover between yachting and coastal holiday lifestyle.
With strong support from industry colleagues, sponsors, and brand partners —the event was considered by all to be a truly remarkable festival. Thanks to the organisers Mally Xiao (Hainan Yaqing International Marina Co) and Ronnie Wang who remain fully committed to hosting high-quality events and to growing the yachting ecosystem hand in hand with all stakeholders across both the marine and lifestyle sectors.
