Tahiti Superyacht Rendezvous 2024

The Pantaenius team recently made a trip to French Polynesia for the Australian Superyacht Rendezvous in Tahiti in July. Held at Marina Taina, it was great opportunity to connect with the captains of vessels insured through Pantaenius. It was amazing to see so many yachts that Pantaenius covers—whether through our offices in Hamburg, Sydney, Monaco, Spain, Denmark, or Austria—all docked at the marina at the same time.

Walking the docks, the team spotted everything from smaller monohulls to catamarans, some impressive sailing superyachts and power yachts. All of them had travelled far and it was clear everyone was having a blast. They were all smiles, sharing stories of their journey from Europe through the Panama Canal, then either directly to the Gambiers or via the Marquesas Islands to Tahiti. Papeete turned out to be the ideal pit stop for restocking and getting a few repairs done before heading off to the Cook Islands, Niue, Tonga, or Fiji.

Superyacht Australia hosted a BBQ competition that was a real highlight. Each crew received Australian bush spices and a nice piece of beef, and they had to set up their BBQs, light the coals, and get cooking. The food was amazing, and it was tough for the judges to pick a winner. The crews had a fantastic time, sharing tales of their voyages while enjoying the delicious food.

It was great for our clients to meet the Australian Pantaenius team who were able to answer questions about storm cover and offer advice on safe places to stay between November and May when the South Pacific sees more storms. Many boat owners take this time to head to Australia, and with its top-notch shipyards along the East Coast, it is the perfect place for getting any maintenance work done. And who could resist the idea of watching the New Year’s Eve fireworks in Sydney from their own yacht?
