Dear APSA Members and Friends, There is plenty happening on the superyacht scene, with the European yacht shows 'season' about to start. APSA will be at both Cannes and Monaco, with Committee members Joe Yuen and Antony Cowie attending the Cannes Yachting Festival, and Committee members Christophe Ceard, Alex Teji, Gordon Fernandes and Antony Cowie in Monaco where they look forward to welcoming everyone to APSA’s signature event
Benetti returns to the Cannes Yachting Festival, held this year from September 10 to 15, where it will be showcasing the brand’s excellence with three models loved by customers all over the world. The spotlight will be on BO116, an Oasis 40m, on the Oasis 34m BO210 and on BMP002, a Motopanfilo 37m unit.
New Member: Island Sailor Maldives was incorporated in 2001 to provide services from the heart of the Indian Ocean. The yacht agency was created to help cruising sailors deal with the formalities when entering the Maldives and included travel arrangements, assistance for yacht chartering, surfing, diving, game fishing and inter-atoll sailing.

Gold Coast City Marina has welcomed the 50-metre Superyacht JeMaSa (ex-Plan B) for a major refit project. The JeMaSa refit project is being overseen and run by Juan Koegelenberg, Director of Liquid Yacht Support based at GCCM, and relies on the combined skills of the on-site marine trades.

Labuan Shipyard and Engineering SDN BHD located in the Federal Territory of Labuan, Malaysia has a 28m yacht for sale. The motoryacht built in Turkey, was sent to the shipyard for repair work in 2019, but the previous owner decided not to pursue the repair work and the yacht has been in storage since that time.

The Asia-Pacific Superyacht industry is back in action with events being hosted in Australia, Fiji, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong. These combined with the international events means there is a lot to look forward in the second half of 2024, and here are some events coming up!
The fourth annual Australia Fiji Rendezvous brought together 18 Australian marine industry representatives to Port Denarau Marina from 22 to 24 August 2024, creating a dynamic gathering of industry expertise. With the recent spate of yacht losses from all manner of risks from fire to heavy weather to crew error the yacht insurance market is set to continue to be a very difficult place in which to operate, with insurers being even more nervous of the risks they are prepared to take on.
