Thailand’s marine industry has thrown its support to the strategic relocation of the Thailand International Boat Show to Phuket Yacht Haven Marina in 2025 with 50+ boats booked in-the-water, 60+ exhibitors confirmed onshore and an expanded in-water-onshore exhibition space of more than 10,000 sqm. Taking place 9 - 12 January, 2025 the four-day show is preceded by the Thailand Yachting Conference and the Show Gala Dinner, creating a B2B2C platform that connects industry stakeholders and showcases Thailand’s marine leisure industry.

From November 20 to 22, Amsterdam became the epicentre of the global yacht racing community, as the Yacht Racing Forum 2024 brought together 289 delegates from 28 nationalities. Over three days of engaging conferences, presentations, and networking, the Forum provided a platform to address the sport’s biggest challenges, unveil innovations, and shape the future of yacht racing.

APSA has had a busy few months keeping abreast of the latest developments in the superyacht industry. Visits to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, followed by The Superyacht Forum and Metstrade in Amsterdam, showed just how much the superyacht industry is growing and developing. Metstrade will expand into hall 8, which will add around 10,000m2 of space in next year’s show. The additional Superyacht Pavilion will provide options for exhibitors seeking more stand space, and open a circular route around Metstrade halls to improve the visitor experience in 2025.

Metstrade 2024 hosted close to 1,600 exhibitors, across 12 halls at RAI Amsterdam The 36th edition of the world’s leading trade show for leisure marine equipment, systems and materials, recorded its highest ever attendance of leading marine professionals from across the globe. The show received 31,824 visits from 19,779 unique visitors spanning 134 nationalities.

The 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) was one for the record books for Horizon Power Catamarans, who sold the PC60 and PC68 inventory boats on display and signed contracts for two new PC60 builds during the show. Two display boats were sold and two new-build orders signed during the record-breaking show.

Gulf Craft Group is one of the world’s only fully integrated yacht manufacturers, with brands such as Majesty and Nomad, amongst others. Mohammed Hussein Alshaali, Chairman of Gulf Craft, was honoured in Amsterdam with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the 10th annual Boat Builder Awards for Business Achievement. 

The Asia-Pacific Superyacht industry is back in action with events being hosted in Thailand, Singapore, Australia, Fiji, Tahiti, and Hong Kong, These Asia-Pacific events when combined with the international boat shows and Summits means there is a lot to look forward to in 2025.
