Spring is an active time for APSA in Asia, and the next event on the superyacht schedule is APSA member Horizon’s biennial Open House, a celebration of yachts, culture and innovation being held at the shipyard’s facilities in Kaohsiung, 5-7 March 2024. Over 100 superyacht owners, agents, brokers, and industry professionals will gather for three days of entertainment, superyacht launches, yacht hops, cocktail parties, and gala dinners. I am very much looking to forward to attending the personalised tours of the Horizon Group’s expanded, cutting-edge shipyard facilities, and the insider's view to where the magic happens in crafting these world class vessels. 

Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) announced a long-term partnership with host venue Dubai Harbour. New agreement offers Dubai International Boat Show and the global yachting community great opportunities for growth. After four days of buzz, excitement, energy, and buoyant boat sales, the 30th edition of the DIBS has secured a long-term home and will fast-track the momentum of Dubai as one of the world’s most attractive yachting destinations.

Superyacht Australia proudly reports the success of its Australia Thailand Rendezvous event held in Phuket, Thailand, marking an important return to engaging with South East Asia since the last event in February 2020. The event, sponsored by Echo Yachts at Phuket Yacht Haven Marina on Friday, February 9th, saw an impressive turnout with 17 superyachts in attendance on the day and 22 engaged throughout the week. 

 

Departing on January 6th, an international fleet of 25 boats ranging from 34ft to 76ft, carrying 80 crews from various countries including the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, United States, Italy, Spain, Canada, Norway, Denmark, Ireland, and Latvia, set sail for the Cape Verde Islands. Following a stop at Marina Mindelo, the fleet undertook a journey of over 2000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean.
