The Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit held in Hong Kong on the 5-6 June 2024 was a roaring success in the Year of the Dragon. Organised by SuperYacht Times, and run under the patronage of Simpson Superyachts (a division of Simpson Marine), the Summit exceeded expectations for both organisers and attendees, and will go down as a seminal moment in the further development of the superyacht sector in Asia. Held at the Renaissance Harbour View Hong Kong Hotel, the Summit was attended by 175 delegates, half of whom had flown in for the event.
The first Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit 2024 was a milestone event for the Asia-Pacific superyacht community. Organised by Superyacht Times (SYT), APSA was a Supporting Partner and the Summit that was rated as an overwhelming success. With 175 local and overseas delegates in attendance there was no shortage of support for this inaugural event.
Organised by the Thai Yachting Business Association, the Thailand Charter Show is Southeast Asia’s premier Yacht Charter Show for yachts and superyachts. A luxury yachting event that provides a platform for crewed charter yachts and brokers to showcase their boats in a stunning location, the third edition of the Thailand Charter Show will be held at Phuket Yacht Haven from the 1st to the 3rd of November, 2024, just before the start of the high season.
“We expect significant expansion in Asia-Pacific, Southeast Asia and the Chinese markets over the next ten years,” says Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman of Sanlorenzo. “It’s a high potential and currently underserved area where we would like to extend our presence.” And extend its presence Sanlorenzo most definitely has done. Last year APAC commanded more than 10% of the Group’s total net revenues, and the acquisition of Simpson Marine will fortify and expand its position in the region.
Horizon Yacht USA is excited to announce the grand opening of the new West Coast Office located in Seattle, Washington in the Salmon Bay Yachting Center. This new office will serve as a prime location to enhance our services for our partners, clients, and brokers in the Pacific Northwest. With that partnership, Shanghai-based Wanda Yacht Management GM Leo Yang also becomes Burgess’ Chief Representative in China. The 11th Australia Tahiti Rendezvous was held on the 20-21 June at Marina Taina in Papeete, Tahiti and provided an excellent platform for the Australian companies to inform the yachts currently based or visiting Tahiti on the cruising options, refit and maintenance facilities and service providers, that are available in Australia, as they continue their journey west in the South Pacific.
The 2025 edition of the Thailand International Boat Show A Luxury Lifestyle Event will take place at Phuket Yacht Haven from 9 - 12 January, 2025. Located in the north of Phuket Island, Phuket Yacht Haven is the island’s largest marina with 332 berths and can accommodate yachts of all sizes up to 100+ metres, aligning with the organisers’ plans to expand the show and welcome more boats, larger boats and superyachts.
Port Denarau Marina, Fiji’s premier superyacht marina located in the South Pacific, and The International SeaKeepers, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that facilitates oceanographic research, conservation, and education through direct involvement with the yachting community, announce a partnership to advance marine conservation efforts by engaging private vessels in the South Pacific.
Over 200 people attended the Cluster Yachting Monaco’s 10th anniversary celebration, which was attended by HSH Prince Albert II, President of the Yacht Club de Monaco, who congratulated members for the work they do to promote the Monegasque yachting sector. “This initiative has become a reality. You are ambassadors of the yachting industry in the Principality. We want it to be as sustainable as possible over time but to also have an environmental purpose,” said the Sovereign.
