Monaco Marina Management (M3) hosted the 1st Edition of the "Smart Marina Dubai Conference: Innovations for a Greener Marina and Yachting Industry" on March 1st, 2023, during the Dubai International Boat Show. This conference aimed to bring together professionals from the Marina and Yachting sectors to explore sustainable solutions for the industry.
The ceremony was held on January 26th at the Livorno yard to launch FB283, a 62-meter Benetti Full Custom Yacht with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure, tailor made for the owner like a bespoke suit. Signing off the entire project from a blank sheet of paper was Giorgio Cassetta, author of the exteriors and interiors. The hull lines are by Van Oossanen Naval Architects.

Asia is back in action. The Singapore Yachting Festival has just been announced, and it will take place on the 27-30 April at One˚15 Marina. We have just heard that the Japanese government has made very favourable amendments to rules regarding yacht crew and the length of time they can stay onboard foreign flagged yachts in Japanese waters. The 3rd ‘Sail the Andamans’ Yacht Rally & Carnival is being held 20 February - 21 March 2023 which is an excellent opportunity to experience the Andaman & Nicobar Islands - a magical yachting destination.
Singapore’s flourishing leisure marine industry has been bolstered with SG Marine Guide launching of the Singapore Yachting Festival (SYF) which will take place on 27-30 April 2023 at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove. To fill the void of the postponed Singapore Yacht Show, the Singapore Yachting Festival will put an end to speculation in the market of multiple yacht shows competing to launch in Singapore.
The Andaman & Nicobar Islands is truly a magical yachting destination with well-charted seas, beautiful blue waters, many safe harbours and adventure options. Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard (GCCM) recently announced that they are one of the founding Industry partners of the new Boating Industry Academy. The Boating Industry Association (BIA) has partnered with the Australian Industry Trade College (AITC) to establish the Boating Industry Academy, the first industry-driven program for high school students wishing to pursue a career in the boating and marine industries.
Sanlorenzo’s ten-year strategic plan, 'Road to 2030', which has a major focus on sustainability and innovation was presented at the recent Boot Düsseldorf show. In 2023, Sanlorenzo became the Project Partner of the Blue Innovation Dock, a Boot Düsseldorf platform that brings together voices and projects dedicated to sustainability, which is an overarching priority for the future.
SYL Japan (part of SYL worldwide which also includes SYL Florida, SYL Australia & SYL Monaco) has announced that the Japanese government has made an amendment to the Crew Pass (CP) system in Japan. Prior to 2023 a CP was issued for only 14 days and could sometimes, in certain circumstances, be extended for a further 14 days.

In January 2023 the Asia-Pacific celebrates the New Year twice: there’s New Year on 01 January, or course, and then the Lunar or Chinese New Year when we welcome the Year of the Rabbit. With China finally dropping its zero-Covid policy and quarantine restrictions, businesses in Asia are hoping for a quick kick start to the tourism industry over the Chinese New Year holiday period. There is plenty of positive news at the start of 2023. As the world opens back up with travel, the Maldives, with her many attractions, is welcoming an increasing number of luxury vessels. “The tropical getaway saw 18 superyachts the first week of January, compared with only one two months ago”, according to a story on Bloomberg.com (6th January 2023).

Effective from the 01st December 2022, the Management Board will serve as Co-CEOs, succeeding the role and responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer of the company.
