Dear APSA members and Friends

The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) has come and gone, and APSA’s Asia Superyacht Night (ASYN) was well attended - and I believe successfully showcased the strength of the Asia-Pacific superyacht industry. It’s a great way to start the MYS, and this year we were able to provide a fantastic party, and thanks to our sponsors.

The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) is far and away the most important event on the superyacht calendar, and this year’s show was no exception. As busy as ever, with around 30,000 visitors and 120 superyachts, this year there was also plenty of Asia-Pacific superyacht action this year. Several announcements from members of the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Association (APSA), included new superyacht events in Australia, new partnerships, new charter opportunities, and new marinas in Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Japan - which gives the region plenty to promote and celebrate.

Recent changes to the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry (CISR) have introduced welcome flexibility for private yacht owners looking to carry more guests than the standard limit. The regulatory changes issued under Shipping Notice 01/2025 (Rev 01) in September 2025 removes some of the previous administration, while emphasising the need for strong safety and risk management procedures.

Horizon Power Catamarans will present two of its PC models during the 66th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2025. A brand new PC60 featuring both an on-deck master and a Portuguese Deck configuration is on display alongside a new PC68 with the same layout. The team will also unveil the first-ever wheelchair accessible layout drawings for the PC68 model at its stand on the Face Dock, Slip 608.

Award-winning megayacht builder Cheoy Lee Yachts will showcase detailed plans for the new Cheoy Lee Discovery Series luxury explorer yacht line at the 2025 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, (FLIBS) 2025, and the new Cheoy Lee 130 Explorer is also making her debut at the show.

Benetti returns to America's largest boat show in a new location at Pier Sixty-Six. At the Americas Headquarters, "The House of Yachting" will also be present, a private area with a view of the Marina to welcome clients, brokers, and designers during the boat show. On the dock, three superyachts from the Oasis and Class families will be displayed.

Ferretti group has seven vessels on show, including two premieres in the AMAS region, at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). Each of the vessels symbolise the creative and productive energy of its world-class brands and the FLIBS confirms its role as an international meeting point for shipyards, owners, and design and yachting enthusiasts.

Sanlorenzo unveiled the first 74Steel, ahead of its launch in La Spezia.  At 74m it is Sanlorenzo’s largest yacht ever crafted, with steel and aluminum construction and propelled by diesel-electric system. With Three hulls sold and a fourth under negotiation before launch; each superyacht is carefully co-created with unique interiors, layouts and bow configurations elevating Sanlorenzo’s made-to-measure philosophy to new heights.

Gilbert d’Offay, GM of Asia Pacific Superyachts Seychelles participated in a panel discussion at the inaugural African Boat Conference in Cape Town in October 2025. “Besides offering a sailing venue out of the Med & Caribbean season, Africa has something money cannot buy – culture and biodiversity, and there’s so much potential in this region.” enthused d’Offay.  

The Lantau Yacht Club Boat Show - Festa Nautica 2025 successfully concluded on 19 October and this three-day yachting extravaganza, seamlessly blended yachting culture with luxury lifestyle experiences, brought together yacht enthusiasts and industry leaders. Through a diverse range of high-end lifestyle brands and immersive experiences, the event showcased a unique coastal living aesthetic, highlighting Hong Kong's strengths and potential as a yachting hub in Asia while injecting new momentum into the regional yacht economy.

The sight of the M/Y Solafide (52m) at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show carried more significance than its gleaming exterior might suggest. It was a milestone for Asian brokerage market, with Singaporean broker Della Pearce and Singapore-based Julien Solari Chief Commercial Officer of Camper & Nicholsons, representing an Asian-owned superyacht on the world’s most prestigious superyacht stage, the Monaco Yacht Show.

The International Charter Expo is coming back to Amsterdam in November (12-14 Nov) and it promises to be the biggest and best edition yet. One of the main highlights this year is the new Superyacht Village, a special area focused on crewed charter yachts and the luxury sector of the industry.

As a proud member of the Cluster Yachting Monaco, JMS Yachting was delighted to participate in the Cluster Yachting Winter Pop-Up 2025, held on Thursday, 9th October 2025 at the prestigious Yacht Club de Monaco. Sam Thompson Cert RP, Commercial Director, joined a panel of industry leaders to discuss “Meeting Owner Expectations” — one of the key topics of this year’s event.

The Singapore Boating Industry Association (SBIA) has introduced a new structure of ten industry clusters to better represent and serve the diverse sectors within Singapore’s yachting industry. This marks an important step in strengthening collaboration, sharing expertise, and developing focused initiatives across key areas such as marinas, training, services, importation, immigration and chartering.

The next edition of the superyacht sector’s must-attend event (17-18 November 2025) announces its strong agenda tackling the industry’s forthcoming challenges and opportunities through brilliantly curated content, top class speakers, industry-renowned panellists, and excellent networking opportunities.
